| TERIS Procedure |
|
|
TERIS™ is an investigational procedure that places an implant inside the stomach and is intended to reduce hunger both during and between meals. Patients undergoing this investigational procedure are sedated. Once asleep, a protective tube is inserted in the mouth and advanced to the top of the stomach. This tube serves as the working port for the procedure. A specialized tool is passed down the protective tube and into the stomach. This tool pulls in the stomach wall producing a fold of stomach tissue which is used to anchor the implant in place. A number of these folds are made, coupled to the silicone anchors, and then attached to the implant. The protective tube is removed to conclude the procedure.
