Since the inception of BaroSense, the needs of patients, physicians and other health care professionals have driven our development. As we move forward in bringing our technology to greater numbers of obesity sufferers, we will continue to count on healthcare providers working with the obese to help guide our programs.
With the magnitude and scope of the obesity epidemic continuing to increase, it is important for interventional physicians to have a set of procedures to treat a diverse group of patients. What has become clear in the last 10 years is that one bariatric procedure does not address the needs of all patients. It is also clear that bariatric procedures are a potent part of an overall lifestyle program for those afflicted with obesity. The selection of the optimal procedure needs to be weighed against the procedure's risk and the patient's ability to participate in the necessary post procedure treatment regimen based on the procedure type selected.
BaroSense has developed the investigational TERIS™ (Trans-oral Endoscopic Restrictive Implant System) with the goal of reducing both procedural and long-term complications while delivering clinically meaningful weight loss for obesity sufferers considering procedural intervention. |
